Want to go green this year and email out your invite? Or do you need to print your invitation out as a photo at a photo lab?
Unfortunately PDF’s can’t be printed as photos, and editable PDF’s aren’t suitable for emailing (because the fonts will look different depending on which program the viewer uses to open the email).
Here are 3 easy ways to convert your invite into an emailable format:
1. Use the Snapshot Tool in Adobe Reader
Use the Snapshot tool in Adobe Reader to take a screenshot – it won’t copy the shaded boxes – and then paste the snapshot into your email or wherever you need it:
- Click on the top menu option EDIT > UNDO, REDO & MORE > TAKE A SNAPSHOT
- Drag a rectangle around the area you want to copy, and then release.
- Click outside the rectangle to exit Snapshot mode.
- Open your email program, messaging app etc and go ahead and paste the snapshot in.
[see this screenshot for help in locating this option]
TIP: You can increase the resolution of your snapshot:
- Click on the top menu option EDIT > PREFERENCES (Windows) or ACROBAT READER > PREFERENCES (Mac).
- Select “General” on the left.
- Select “Use fixed resolution for Snapshot tool images”.
- Type in a number (usually 200 pixels/inch for email is fine, 300 pixels/inch for printing).
2. Turn off the shaded boxes and take a screenshot as normal
You can turn off the blue shaded boxes in Adobe Reader and take a screenshot as normal:
- Click on the top menu option EDIT > PREFERENCES (Windows) or ACROBAT READER > PREFERENCES (Mac).
- Select “Forms” on the left.
- Deselect “Show border hover color for fields”.
- Take a screenshot as normal on your computer.
